Guatemala means the "land of forests" which was from Mayan dialects spoken by indigenous people. The national culture was also influenced by the arrival of other Europeans. Christmas begins on December the 7th, when Guatemalans begin to clean their homes and burning their garbage from their homes from evil in preparations to receive Christ. Guatemala is ground for chocolate they invented the first chocolate bar during Mayan times. Guatemala is the first country to have uncovered the ancient ruins of Mayari astrological calender computation.
I feel that they celebrate Christmas very differently from embracing the holy day of Christ different from how America celebrates Christmas. I don't understand the concept of them burning their own trash because that makes no sense that there is evil in garbage but culture is hard to explain. It's very interesting the way they do celebrate christmas a lot earlier and also in different ways yet similar to how we celebrate Christmas. The article has go to along with the culture because it goes indepth of speaking of how Guatemala was basically the first to undercover ruins within their forest like country where they celebrate the universal day of Christmas to celebrate Christ. Although, they do celebrate it in their own ways it differs from those of americans. |
